More uncertainly over Brexit

November 3, 2016

The Divisional Court has just upheld an application brought against the government by campaigners, the so-called "People's Challenge". This decision means that Parliament must vote in favour of Brexit before Article 50 is invoked.

As an appeal is inevitable, it looks as if the Supreme Court will now decide whether the government can invoke Article 50 without parliament's approval,

The decision will continue the  political uncertainty surrounding Brexit,  but it may also reignite the debate as to whether the  vote to leave could be delayed further or even overturned.
